COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS
Competitions will be held in accordance with Handbook 2005-2008 of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) and the Manual for the Organizers of World Championships of IWF.

ACCOMMODATION
All delegation members participating in the Event will be accommodated in the following two hotels:

1. INTERCONTINENTAL CALI – STELAR HOTELS (Five-Star Hotel)

MEN: 56 kg. 62 kg. 69 kg. 77 kg. 85 kg. 94 kg. 105 kg. And +105 kg.

WOMEN: 48 kg. 53 kg. 58 kg. 63 kg. 69 kg. 75 kg. And + 75 kg.

ENTRIES
Preliminary Entry Forms must be submitted to the Organizing Committee and the IWF before 05 April, 2008

Final Entry Forms must be submitted to the Organizing Committee and the IWF before 20 May, 2008.

The Media Accreditation Forms to be returned to the Organizing Committee before 20 May, 2008.

DOPING CONTROL
Doping Control will be conducted in accordance with the IWF Regulations.

FINANCIAL CONDITIONS

Accommodation costs in hotels for participants are as follows:

1. Double room type: US$ 95 per person per day including 3 meals daily at an exclusively-arranged restaurant in the hotel.
2. Single room type: US$ 120 per person per day including 3 meals daily at
3. an exclusively arranged restaurant in the hotel.
4. An Entry Fee of US$ 200.- must be paid by each delegation member, athlete or official. In addition a special Anti-Doping Levy of US$ 50 should be payed too.
5. All payments must be settled to the Organizing Committee upon arrival at the Accreditation Center in the hotel.
6. A minimum Stay of 4(four) days is required for all participants.

TRANSPORTATION
All teams will be received at Alfonso Bonilla Aragon Airport, Santiago de Cali City, Colombia, upon their arrival and they will be ferried by bus to the Hotel. The participating teams are required to make reservations for their own flights to and from Cali for the Championships.

INSURANCE
As required by the IWF Regulations, all participants would have to be under insurance coverage for travel and accident by their respective Federations before their departure.

VISA
Visa entry to Colombia could be obtained from the Colombian Embassy in the respective countries by presenting the Official Invitation for the said Championships. If there is any help needed, please contact the Organizing Committee. A complete list of names with passport data and fax number/mailing address should be sent in time to the Organization Committee for the issuance of invitation letters.

FLAG AND ANTHEM
Each participating team is kindly requested to bring along a CD of their National Anthem and two National Flags 1.2 x1.8 m.

These must be submitted upon arrival/accreditation.

ACCREDITATION
The accreditation of the delegations will take place in the two Hotels upon arrival. 

AVERAGE TEMPERATURE in Santiago de Cali: 18-31°C (rain expected).

Santiago de Cali: located South of Bogotá City. Travel by plane is 30 minutes.
